Would it be hard to pedal if i have a 28 tooth sprocket and a 13 tooth freewheel
would it be hard or easy to pedal>?????? My the way it is on my
bmx......
It wouldn't be too hard to pedal but it would be too light to
pedal. I say this because of an formula I use:
(Front sprocket / Rear sprocket) x Wheel Size
so.
28/13 x 20 = 43
Generally you want a number around 55 as where MOST single speed bikes range around. So the higher the number, the harder. The lower, the easier. So if you were to change you would want either a 36t sprocket in the front & keep the 13t, or you can keep the 28t & change the 13t into a 10t. I would change the rear. These are common gear ratios. 36/13 x 20 = 55.4 28/10 x 20 = 56.0 So both ratios are fairly close to 55 so I would recommend getting the rear sprocket (10t) since a 36 t in the front would be huge.
Kinda hard to tell from here. Tell where you live and we will
come over, try it out, and let you know.
No it wouldnt be hard to pedal, that gearing gives you a gear
of 34''if your BMX has 16''dia wheels or 43'' if you are on 20'' wheels,
34 0r the 43 is the distance one turn of the pedals will take you
